Adoption Rocks, But Right Now It's More Like a Slow 80's Rock Ballad...

This title makes me laugh with a  little sting of disappointment at the end.  It's so true.  I can just hear a slow rock ballad like "Weeeeeeeeeeeee are the Chaaaaaampions..."  playing in the back ground.  The good news is we are champions!  Adoption is an AMAZING journey.  The bad news is our process has slowed to a standstill at the moment.

So we are just trusting Our Father who cares more about orphans and our family than we do.  He is a good God.  He is trustworthy.  He has us and our child in the palm of His Hand.  He has always been faithful.  He has an amazing way of creating beauty from ashes.  He provided for us after we lost our home and cars during Hurricane Katrina.  (I don't like saying we lost everything because we had each other, our friendships deepened, our faith was stretched and God was so good to us.)  He worked out every detail of Nathanael's adoption.  The delays each had a purpose.  He gives good gifts to His children.  ***deep peaceful sigh***   Ok, I feel better now.  I needed those reminders.  How about you?

We serve a faithful God!

I wanted to update you guys on the process! We are waiting for our background checks to be returned and Brian to get his TB test for our homestudy to be completed. We are REALLY close!
God has been talking to both Brian and I about trusting him to provide for our adoption and our daily needs. Our pastor has been sharing really relevant sermons about being desperate for God. Brian talked about how when we are really desperate, we have no hope to meet our needs without God stepping in. Brian even shared about this today in worship. Well, we agreed to ask God to meet our needs and....Today a wonderful couple gave us a check for $1,000 toward our adoption! God is so good and so are His people!

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
2 Corinthians 9:8
