So what's happening now?

My blogging has been nonexistent for SEVERAL months. So, what's happening now???

Nathanael is 27 months old now. Can you believe it?! I can't!!! He LOVES life. He loves to hug, kiss, and cuddle. Don't get me wrong, he's all boy too...plays with cars, trains, dirt, blocks and climbs climbs climbs! He is a delight! I love seeing his excitement about life. I long for some of that...you know going back to a time when blowing bubbles makes me so excited I laugh and squeal, and clap. :) He is pure joy to our lives and we feel so blessed that he is ours.

I was thinking the other day about the way God orchestrated our family. Brian and I were just discussing this last night. I will forever feel blessed and honored that God led us to The Home of God's Love and Ted and Bev Skiles. Their method of matching families and caring for children is Spirit-led and anointed! Nathanael could not be more perfect for our family. He has so many characteristics that are like his dad and others that are like me. I am amazed and humbled over and over again as I think about how God matched a child from Taiwan and a family in America so perfectly. I will be forever thankful for Ted and Bev's care for Nathanael when he was so sick. The visited him in the hospital, sang "Jesus Loves Me" (which is the first song he sang along to), and just loved on him. When we were in Taiwan almost 2 years ago, I sat misty-eyed watching them interact with the children they care for. It was obvious that these children are precious to them. I will never be able to thank the Lord enough for bringing Ted and Bev into our lives. They are an inspiration. I will never be able to thank the Lord or Ted and Bev enough for the gift of our precious, perfect son.

So why am I blogging about this now? Here's why...
This past year has been difficult emotionally, financially, relationally....OK you get the point. :) When I reflect on what God has done in my life, the minute details that he worked out to match Nathanael with Brian and I, I am reminded of the Lord's FAITHFULNESS! His faithfulness has nothing to do with our circumstances. In fact, His light shines brightest when we are in the dark. Reflecting on our adoption and how the Lord worked out details for our good and His glory reminds me that He's still the same God doing the same kind of work today. It encourages me to continue trusting Him and thanking Him for his providential care of his children.

"You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds,
O God our savior.

and armed yourself with mighty strength." Psalm 65:5-6

"He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:4
